    After having time to put some thought into this peculiar question; I realised that this mathematical puzzle has endless solutions to these 2 questions, or all mathematical puzzles at that matter. Because of the mentioned rule above of having 1 letter representing the same digit each time, having this rule means that you can classify a letter to whatever number you'd like it to represent, but it must be the same number for the same letter once written down at all costs. In my answers, I have restricted myself to using numbers from 1 to 10 only.
